Who we are
Sheep Chores is made by Brian Moore and sold through the Apple App Store. Questions about this policy go to support@sheepchores.app.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter — family name, kids' names and birthdays, chores, routines, rewards, completions, notes, photos of finished chores, the money ledger, settings — is stored on the device and, when iCloud is on, in your family's private iCloud database (Apple's CloudKit) and iCloud Key-Value Store, under your Apple Account. Apple hosts it; we cannot read it. There is no Sheep Chores server, and nothing is ever sent to us.
On Apple's App Store privacy questionnaire this is “Data Not Collected.”
Sharing between parents
If you invite a second parent (Settings › Family sharing), the app uses Apple's CloudKit sharing to give that person's Apple Account access to the same private database. You can stop sharing at any time from the same screen. Kids never need accounts.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Notifications — on a parent's iPhone, to tell you when a kid finishes a chore or asks for a reward, and for optional summaries and reminders. The family iPad never asks.
- Camera and photos — only when a chore asks for a photo of the finished job. Photos stay in your iCloud with the rest and are deleted with the completion.
- Face ID / Touch ID — as a convenience instead of the parent PIN on your own iPhone. Biometric data never leaves the device; the app only receives yes or no.
- Speech — read-aloud and routine cues use the system voice on the device. Nothing is recorded.
- Siri and Shortcuts — intents run inside the app on your device.
- Apple Intelligence and Image Playground — chore ideas and sheep portraits are generated on the device by Apple's frameworks, where available; the app sends no prompts anywhere.
What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-ups, passwords or email collection.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites.
- No analytics, crash-reporting services or third-party SDKs. The only third-party code is Apple's.
- No selling, renting or sharing of data — there is none to share.
Children
Sheep Chores is a family app used by children under a parent's supervision. Because the app collects nothing and has no accounts, no personal information about children is collected by us. The parent area is protected by a PIN that children do not have.
Exporting and deleting
Export the ledger and completion history as CSV from the app at any time. Deleting a kid, a chore or a reward takes every record that names it along, on every device, and a sweep after each sync removes anything an interrupted sync left behind. Delete the app's data from Settings › Data › Erase, which removes it from the device and from iCloud; deleting the app from every device and removing its iCloud data in iOS Settings › Apple Account › iCloud does the same.
This website
sheepchores.app is a static site served by Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. The sky switch stores one preference in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your browser. Cloudflare may keep ordinary server logs (IP address, request, time) to run the service; see Cloudflare's own privacy policy for those.
